razanei's raiders - 2022-08-31

August acquisitions:

Bought: (7)

  • Coyote [g1] (August 4, 5999t): female abbe | splash slime | lead noxtide | shadow glowtail
  • [originally: female mirror | splash basic | lead basic | shadow basic]
  • You know how it is: check out the fodder floor to get hatchlings for next week’s profit push, come home with a cute g1 in tow. Someone did a mass hatch and had like 20 freshly hatched g1s up for 5999t.
  • Rugelach (August 7, 8g): male obelisk | obsidian piebald | obsidian paint | emerald opal
  • For RAGING TIGER FOO, the latest hot brightmyth UMA. (It was for an Earth dom promotion and cost “850g (OOF gems)”—oof is right. Cheaper than buying UMAs after the fact, though.)
  • Mortimer (August 7, 25g): female obelisk | raspberry metallic | raspberry alloy | mauve koi
  • Rugelach’s wife. Got her with specific genetics in mind: gem primary/secondary so dad’s piebald/paint will pass, koi or opal tert, wide color range (it didn’t turn out that wide, but it’s wide enough). Colorbomb pups! I’m going to want to keep too many of these.
  • Zayin (August 12, 15kt): male bog | overcast ribbon | strawberry eye spots | phthalo basic
  • [originally: male fae | overcast petals | strawberry facet | phthalo glimmer]
  • I was doing a bunch of randomized scries and stumbled upon a very cute wildclaw puppy oh no. (overcast ribbon, vermilion eye spots, midnight flecks) Overcast ribbon makes a perfect red stripe down the side, and flecks as a near-double gives the whole pup a metallic-looking sheen, and I decided I needed it. I was lucky enough to find a cheap fae with overcast primary + red-range secondary + a reasonably close tert. I considered shelling out for a wildclaw scroll (insert sweatdropping blob) but decided on bog instead, since I didn’t have any boy bogs.
  • Shibuya (August 17, 5798t): male abbe | watermelon pharaoh | amethyst sarc | cyan glowtail
  • wtf why is the fodder so cute, who authorized this, now I have to keep him
  • (I was lowkey looking for a pharaoh/sarc mate for Ambergris, and this dude is perfect: the hatchlings will have prim/sec variety, but they’ll always have cyan polypore to match their eyes)
  • Miaplacidus (August 21, 25kt): male pearl | stone pharaoh | cerulean eel | fern underbelly
  • Trying to hawk my own wares in the find-a-dragon forum, I found the perfect dragon for the Plasma Caster skin. Literally could not have asked for better colors. “Miaplacidus” is his given name; I might change it, though it’s growing on me.
  • Caspian [g1] (August 31, free): female mirror | twilight basic | ultramarine basic | peach basic
  • One for the road!! You know, I don’t even remember signing up for this pinglist, and now I keep getting pinged for free g1s and bringing them home like a doofus. This one’s colors are a surprisingly good match for Razanei (blurple prim/sec, yellow tert) so the plan is to have them breed a kid to change to aberration. Gotta break into the ancient market somehow. Also she’s cute with lionfish/noxtide so I might keep?

Bred: (3)

  • Fenrir (July 27): female nocturne | steel wasp | seafoam bee | cyan firefly
  • [lineage: Razanei x Zanarkand]
  • Retroactive keep. She was fodder, then got upgraded to “temp breeder for an imperial” (ft. nocturne breed change), then got upgraded to keeper.
  • Jekserah (August 13): female mirror | azure ground | seafoam paint | sanddollar ghost
  • [lineage: Varcolac x cryptc0re]
  • cute pup, keeping
  • kinda awkward lore-wise because cryptc0re ghosted Varcolac shortly into their relationship, apparently leaving him to be a single dad to their hatchlings
  • anyway Jekserah has big necromancer vibes and is def gonna come back with an army of undead to take over Gloomhaven
  • Ollie (August 28): male spiral | radioactive slime | banana myrid | turquoise thylacine
  • [lineage: Varcolac x Jazz]
  • Weirdo goop dragon! How is Varcolac so good at this game?
