January acquisitions:

Bought (5):

  • Chime (Dec 6, 5300t): female skydancer | abyss tapir | phthalo striation | honeydew smoke
  • Funky girl. Another fodder fail. She made it through the NotN purge and all the way until our end-of-January profit push, so I’m making it official: she’s staying.
  • Mira (Jan 9, 30g): female skydancer | raspberry metallic | raspberry con | raspberry runes
  • One triple skydancer out, another triple skydancer in. Got her for the Pelagic Grotto skin, which was originally for Almagest (but didn’t suit her).
  • Rorich (Jan 8, 5500t) [progen g2]: male pearlcatcher | auburn pharaoh | seafoam sarcophagus | oilslick firefly
  • Nabbed this guy as fodder. He didn’t immediately ping my g2 radar because, y’know, non-plentiful breed with double gem genes. Turns out his parents are seven years old and he’s their 358th child. Megachads. We kneel.
  • With that lineage, I had to keep him. Also he’s the only dragon ever with his colors! He rocks them. Pharaoh/sarc/firefly is the ultimate save combo.
  • Gwenllian (Jan 20, 15g) [progen g2]: male fae | white basic | cyan paint | pearl koi

  • Here’s a more normal progen g2: triple basic, ninth of her line, inactive lair. Hauled her out of someone’s exalt tab because a progen g2 with cyan was too much to resist. Also I was completely out of projects and it just felt weird.

  • Glenys (Jan 22, 7kt): female nocturne | lead fade | blood blend | fire capsule

  • Several months ago, I bought the female wildclaw Steelhound skin, and I’m just getting around to finding a dragon for it. The color profile I want (gray-white OR dark blue range, red-range, fire) is rare, and nearly nonexistent on wildclaws. Big F in the chat.
  • (For the record, the AH is infested with double red-range + fire. I don’t want a fake triple! Why is the AH like this?? Maybe Stock the Pond has the right idea.)
  • Anyway, I picked up this fodder obelisk. Am I really going to buy a wildclaw scroll for a non-g1? Stay tuned. For 7kt I figured better safe than sorry. In the meantime, I gened her and changed her to a nocturne to show off her firebelly.

  • New UMA just dropped and it fits this guy perfectly. (Lucky kid: He inherited mom’s iridescent instead of dad’s jaguar at 2% odds. And it makes him a better fit for the skin!)

  • New year, new project! Saved a nest to hatch on New Year’s Day. The pups were a wild bunch (wide-range flaunt + noxtide will do that), but this one has promising colors. I unironically love non-g1 projects.
  • Mikhail (Jan 2) [progen g3] male obelisk | abyss basic | sanguine flair | auburn glimmer

  • New year, new projects!! With a soil-lavender tert range, I was surprised to get something so nice in the very first litter. Auburn glimmer perfectly matches the sanguine flair mane on obelisks. I had to do it.
  • Zenika (Jan 2) [progen g3]: female obelisk | azure metallic | sanguine paisley | vermillion runes

  • This one wasn’t supposed to be a project. Two gem projects from the same litter is a bit much even for me. But on January 22 I preordered larkhund’s Lunar New Year skin (bunnies!) and discovered this kid is a perfect fit with metallic/paisley/runes. (Metallic is necessary to darken the primary, especially the lower jaw and underbelly.)
  • (Now I have to rewrite Mikhail’s lore because I originally had him as the only cat in the litter. Hmm. Two cats in the same litter is rather much to be a freak occurrence. Maybe I literally steal a plot point from Moon Witch and have Vega be a shifter?)

  • My second natural multigaze! And great colors. Clearly a keeper.
