It’s sandsurge + TCC month, and I went on a project spree. I really should go through the back of the hibden and see if there are less critical units I could be moving on.

- The lightning ancient is scheduled to be released in late summer. Also, there are achievements for breeding ancients. So I thought, why not make a breeding pair? and impulse bought a couple of nice XYZs.
- (Won’t I get bored having all the pups be nearly identical? It’s possible. It happened with Ambergris/Shibuya and Ancalagon/Cygni, which is why I discontinued both pairs. But tbh I’m also getting bored of moderate-range blurple pairs where every pup is a uniquely mediocre blurple mix. Getting a close-range pair is a way to mix things up.)
- update (7/19): Late summer came sooner than I thought! Had these two breedchanged and gened on release day.
- Gene projects are never going to be profitable. Dragons are a cash sink, not a cash generator. But when you have the hot new gem breed, you can recoup a nice chunk of your costs. I spent 3350g on my pair (2kg for scrolls, 1kg for augment x2, 350g for IBF), plus treasure. From selling their first nest, I gained back 1950g (650g x 3 hatchlings). Not bad at all.

- worm was doing a den cleanout and posted a bunch of dergs in chat. I said I was NOT interested in this one but they did scry nicely. Next thing I knew, worm sent me a CR. ty worm! augh I’m getting so many dragons I’m the one who needs to do a den cleanout

- Someone made a topic asking for skin recs for their wildclaw. Someone else posted a bunch of recs from the AH, including my dream skin columbo. I have never rocketed out of a topic so fast. 1100g well spent.
- Then I was like “should I get a g1 for my super cool dream skin?” but I went on AH and found a perfectly good wildclaw lad so I just saved myself a bunch of cash. for now

- Second natural primal! This guy really should be in last month’s log, but I forgot to record him. I held off on finalizing his design for a month in case I wanted to make him a sandsurge. Now that they’re out, it’s a close call—mint augment is very good—but I think I prefer keeping him modern. Also it’s cute that both of my primals are imps.
