November acquisitions: [+8, -2]
Variety month! We’ve got a couple of impulse-acquired progen kids, two new nature ancients (and a bonus plague ancient who came with), a dragon kept for skin-matching, and a Light vs. Arcane rescue. When you think of it, I sent 189 dragons off to the war, and kept 8, which isn’t that bad a ratio.

- I can’t act innocent about this one (“oh, I was just buying a bunch of fodder and then one of them turned out to be a progen g2”). I saw a triple basic plentiful with abyss primary, not even the top of the list, and deliberately hit buy. This one’s on me.

- Saved up three Razanei/Caspian litters for the nature ancient (that’s five eggs. they were not generous). This lad won the scry lottery.

- On the heels of Vaedren, we’re keeping another pup. It’s the fireflies. They’re too good. And look, he matches the new stormy sky background perfectly!

- Sixty dragons in a page of a hibden fodder tab. Fifty-nine heading off to war (Light v. Arcane, 15kt fodder floor, you love to see it). But Cacao was nice enough I thought “Maybe I hold her back, see if anyone wants her.” Then I thought “What if that someone…… is me?”
- In borderline cases, I let the outfit decide. Sometimes nothing sticks, and I happily move the dragon on. With Cacao, everything stuck. Her outfit makes no earthly sense (bones & lace, shells & mushrooms & a scholar’s tome) but the colors are right and that’s what matters.

- Nature ancient fallout: Before the ancient came out, as a kind of pre-game event, I scried all the Raz/Caspian pups as different ancients. Turns out this one looks great as an abby and has a unique color profile among her siblings (and in my lair generally).

- Clanbound hatch! I was really expecting/hoping we’d get scrolls this time, since we got eggs last time. But this one turned out quite cute so I’m not complaining.
- Her clutchmate is violet/pearl/slate, which is workable, but I wasn’t feeling it. Violet/pearl are a nice purple & pink, but slate (a dark brown) is a poor fit. You can minimize it with certain terts (i.e. pay money to make your dragon look very slightly worse), keep it basic, or lean into it (violet has genes with brown accents. however, eww). OR you can sell it for 49g. So that’s what I did.

- Last month, I kept a Cabeswater/Miscanti kid for sucrose’s omyj-shiki m wc skin. He wasn’t the best match, but he was in my lair, so I rolled with it. Today one of my Stock the Pond couples gave me a perfect pup.

- Jehudiel (m skydancer, Cristobal x Revenant): after keeping two other siblings in consecutive months, Jehu doesn’t look so hot any more. tbh he was always boring, I just liked the outfit. got it saved in case a better dragon comes along
