December acquisitions: [+8, -2]
Was hoping to make December a lowkey month. It didn’t pan out. Only one of our new acquisitions was a g1 (and she was hatched before NotN), but seven out of eight were projects—everyone except our surprise meat cultist.

- Yesterday, bulrush said in FRD, “Someone else needs to own a dragon with giraffe/foam/keel so I stop feeling lonely. Actually to tell the truth I’m very stuck with what to do with this dragon but I can’t exalt them because they’re the only one in existence…”
- So I went to AH and started scrying dragons, as one does. Came home with this lad. He has the Spont seal of approval (“What a cute weirdo,” she said).

- I had starfall scrolls burning a hole in my pocket and went to search the AH for a project, with no goal beyond “candy-colored XYZ.” Came home with this one. A bit less candy-colored than I had envisioned, but purple & orange is a good addition to the squad.

- “What if I didn’t get any g1s during NotN?” I said. Just a thought experiment. Then the day before NotN, this g1 popped up in ufology’s hatch-a-day topic. She’s got Razanei’s primary, one-off his secondary, and three-off his tert. I’ve been wanting clones of him to make an aether permababy and a sandsurge, and now I can breed them myself.

- I originally got Drumstick (along with Chops and Ribeye) back in October as a welcome present for Websteak, who wanted a meat-themed den. Then it turned out Drumstick was related to too many of Web’s other meat dogs, so Web sent him home. Now I have an ex-meat cultist. Love when the lore writes itself.

- Inspired by Web’s progen (jade/stonewash/magenta, nicknamed the Hot Mess Express) I went looking for jade + magenta-fuchsia. I found this kid, who happens to be the son of two launch boas. Wasn’t sure if I was going through with my expensive scry, but I figured if I changed my mind I could exalt them at no loss.
- Then on Christmas Day I mentioned my plans AND SOMEONE RANDOMLY GIFTED ME ALL THE SCROLLS?? WHOA???

- So I hatched this outrageous trash fodder nest that was 100% deity-bait. But then I searched the colors, as one does, and discovered Ico is one-of-a-kind (the only dragon of her colors ever to have existed).
- Isn’t it kind of hypocritical to parade around your rare color combo dragon while completely hiding one of the colors? Well, yeah. But consider: the tert sucks.

- last hatch of 2023!! last project of 2023!! I’m planning to change Jimuro to a pearlcatcher, but first I want a keeper kid from him x Akinori. I expected this to take a few litters due to their range. Instead, I got a great hatch in their first nest out of hiatus.
- tbh this is making me appreciate undertides more. maybe I keep Jimuro as-is a bit longer…?

- Aristide (g1 skydancer) [sold for 200g]: She was an impulse pickup last NotN because her colors were a moderately close match to Razanei. However, now that I have Gemini (and Caspian for a slightly larger/more interesting range) she has outlived her usefulness. byee!!!
- Minnow (f coatl, pastel): Jialun’s girlfriend. I got her for the Razanei lineage project when I was attempting to naturally breed a wc/coatl descendant. She was going to be a breed-and-yeet, but I liked her enough to keep; but I just haven’t thought about her at all since the project ended.
