Nests have been popping this month. We’ve got three breeding project successes (not the Maboroshi Project though!!), plus an anniversary g1, a truth-in-logging entry, a primal, and an impulse keep from the fodderlocke.

- happy FR anniversary to me! I hatched an ice egg and it was bad (saffron/sky/rust). hatched a nature egg and it was worse (red/cottoncandy/ginger). then I decided to stop throwing good money after bad and just bought a cheap g1. (I bought her the day after, but she’s got the right hatchdate.)

- Fen has been here for seven months. Initially, I decided not to make her a perma, but keep her temporarily to breed with Lysander for pure progen g5s. I gave her paisley for minimal acceptability and called it a day.
- Mid-January, I brought her and Lysander out for breeding. They’ve had three nests so far. But seeing her in my main lair irritated me. I wound up re-scrying her with a new outfit and new secondary (tide) and made her a keeper.

- whoa. I bring Gemini out of hibden for one nest, and she does the thing. fantastic. project complete. I guess I’m retiring her from breeding after this? unless I discover another denim/jade/lemon scry I desperately need (I do NOT need the eclipse wildclaw)

- Very minor breeding project for august’s YOU’RE A STAR. I hatched Ceruleum last month (Coriolis x Ellory) and thought “This is okay, but it could be better.” I found him a fodder mate and we were off.
- The parents are cobalt / sky-aqua (range of 14) / saffron-marigold (range of 3, all acceptable). My original scry was aqua, which the parents landed on the first nest, but they also got cyan, which I had penciled in as an alternative. After polling the chat I decided to roll with cyan instead.
- Fun fact: He’s the same colors as his uncle Picayune, who was a perma before we rehomed him. I forgot about my old dragon and re-bred him lolol

- very proud of Krivoluca (Stock the Pond, Ragnorra x Bedwyr). ascended to the position of team lead in the fodderlocke, drenched in the blood of her enemies. survived long enough to nest (quite a feat for an obelisk who entered upon aging up) and rolled the nesting option. I had to keep a hatchling as a souvenir.

- The Maboroshi Project officially enters its seventh month. Nests 1-5 (Iscariot x Zenaida, 1/12 odds) were all busts. Nest 6 (Iscariot x Cosmog, 1/4 odds) was also a bust… BUT we got a random primal. OK BLOOBER
- This is the second meme hatch of the project. We already have a correct colors nocturne; now here’s a wrong colors primal. This is totally gambler’s retribution for Hyzenthlay hatching on the first try.

- Minor breeding project for Talonmaster’s Cherrytoned Crystalstones! 1/16 chance, first nest, and they even got me a boy. I feel like the Maboroshi Project is actively routing all my luck into my other nests. I’m actually sorta okay with this.

- Altioris (cosmic obelisk, Xirina’s mate) [given to worm for breeding & eventual exalt]: this guy was supposed to be a breed-and-yeet. I kept him because of looks and breeding FOMO: I thought I might want more pups from him and didn’t want to prematurely end the line. however, I haven’t bred him since last September so we are good. punt
