[Wolf spotlight: the Vespertine hunting squad]
Vespertine is another of our third-generation hunting teams (successor to Ravenlight and Megalovania). They’re basically the kid sibling of The Black Brigade. Following the Kyovin family tradition, the team’s finisher Wulfric has now founded her own hunting squad to carry on their legacy.

Skyquake | stalker for Vespertine | starting stats: 548 | final stats: 1309 (+761)
Daughter of Irrigo, great-grandaughter of Lucky Taro. Taro was a surprisingly decent stalker back in her day, and Skyquake inherited her talent. She found a small trail on her debut hunt in the desert. Then Vice flubbed the catch, but that's how it goes sometimes. Vice claims it was the chasers' fault. She says she's not used to working with "all these pups."
11/25/21 - First medium trail in desert (level 6, 193/186 stalker stats, 1y2m. younger than Meracydia!)
(Skyquake's first large trail was delayed because we took a sojourn out to the tundra for a few months. Stat-wise, she became eligible for desert/taiga larges at level 12 @ 1y9m. When she hit 2 years old, we moved back to the desert and she found a large trail that same day.)
4/9/22 - At 6 years and 9.5 months old, Skyquake makes the wisdom leaderboard! When I decided to keep Skyquake as a puppy, I was sure I was sacrificing any leaderboard dreams for cuteness. (Her mom wasn't even a hunter, just a glacier scout with a moderate wisdom/smarts lean.) But SHE MADE IT and I'm so proud
4/19/22 - At 7 years and 2.5 months, Skyquake also makes the smarts leaderboard! that's my girl

Younger sister of Bullet Liger. Often gets mistaken for her big sister (they're both auburn chasers with olive eyes), which annoys Berry to no end.

Speedster pup originally hailing from the Silver Springs Pack. Eager to please. A bit self-conscious about his outsider status, though we've all assured him that nobody cares.
After the whole Coigreach affair concluded, Jovis told Kaz to carry the loot home. But Kaz was distracted and hungry and ended up munching on it by accident. Oops. It could happen to any of us really.
For weeks afterwards, Kaz tried forlornly to get the green out of his fur, with no success. His huntmates tried to cheer him up. "It looks good on you," Skyquake offered.
"Green fur is trendy these days," said Tachyon, the squad's fashion expert. "Lots of this season's up-and-coming studs will be decked out in green. You'll see."
Kaz perked up at her words. He eventually decided he didn't mind green fur that much, and maybe kinda liked it. Tac was right; it did seem popular among the girls...

Speedster pup from Petrel Point. Our resident fashion expert. She prefers a minimalist look for herself ("Less is more," she says, whatever that's supposed to mean), but she always keeps tabs on the hottest new fur patterns and colors and what's trending among studs.
(Tachyon lived until the age of 7 years and 10.5 months old—the longest of any of her squadmates. She hung in there just long enough to see the promised release of badger base, the absolute hottest new trend, and then she passed away the very next night.)
