- Winter, Year 2 - We received reports that a female was pregnant within the Greyfeather territory but the mountain winter made it difficult for us to travel and confirm it for ourselves. Here at the end of a rare Blue Moon we have made it to the packs last denning site and there appears to be four pups guarded by our alpha female, Fjaðrir.
Winter is of course a dangerous time for young pups and these have been born just a couple months shy of springtime. Previously the alphas have shown skill and ingenuity in surviving the winter but their knowledge may not be enough for these newborn pups.
We don’t have the supplies or equipment to be able to remain on the mountain and so we can only hope for the best and return in spring to see if the pups have survived.
