New Android App, Podcast, & Bullet Points!

New Android App Released!

We have developed and released a new Android App just for AYearAgo.Today! You can get it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=megawattapps.ayearagotoday

For some reason it does not appear anywhere if you search for it on the Play Store. It might just be due to it being new or perhaps the search engine keywords aren't optimal, but the above link is the easiest way to get to it.

We are looking for posts that can be featured on the app listing, if you are okay with one of your posts being featured let us know in the comments. We are planning on releasing an iOS app in the future as well.

Podcast

To help fund projects like the Android app and others currently in development, we are starting up a new podcast service where you can be the star of not one, but two episodes!

How does it work? You get a total of two interviews. The first interview is conducted today asking questions about who you are, your goals, plans for the future, and anything else you want to be interviewed on. One year later, you will be contacted for the second interview. In this second interview you can discuss how things have progressed and if you were able to complete what you were aiming for a year ago (as well as anything else you may want to discuss).

If you are interested, send an email to ayearagotoday@outlook.com to schedule and get more details about the service. This is everything you will get for a one-time fee of $30:

  • Two 30 minute interviews
  • One interview will be conducted today for your present self
  • Another interview will be conducted one year later to see how you've changed and progressed since then
  • Your interviews will be uploaded to several different platforms (iTunes, Google, TuneIn, etc)
  • Your episode titles can be customized. For example: Your Name - Graduate Student Looking For Work
  • Your interviews will appear in a special Podcast section of the AYearAgo.Today website. If you have any photos that you want people to see on the website, you can send those in
  • Each of your interviews will be shared on several different social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc) and emailed out to dozens of newsletter subscribers
  • You will be emailed the links to each platform we uploaded your interview to and a link to each post that we shared on social media with your interview

Although we may have some interview questions already prepared, ultimately the interviews are about you and can be about anything you want. We can discuss in the emails beforehand what you want to talk about and focus on, and you can even send in specific questions that you want us to ask.

Other considerations:

  • The topics and conversations should be appropriate for all ages
  • If you don't want to use your real name, you can use a fake name or your username
  • You can request for your interviews to be removed and deleted at anytime
  • Depending on the interview title, if your name is searched on a search engine, your interviews might be the first results (which isn't a bad thing, just something to consider)
  • Just like hosting this website, hosting podcasts requires us to pay a monthly fee. As long as we can pay that fee your interviews remain be online forever.

If you are interested, send an email to ayearagotoday@outlook.com to schedule your interview!

Bullet Points

@Achaius made this suggestion to be able to add bullet points and numbered lists. We have made that update as you can see in the podcast section above, you can now even have organized numbered lists too:

  1. First Item
  2. Second Item
  3. Inner Item Within Second Item
  4. Another Inner Item
  5. Item inside another item
  6. Inside another item
  7. And so on
  8. Forever
  9. Back to this part
  10. More items
  11. Another inner item
  12. Third Item

Let us know if you have any other suggestions or if you run into any issues!

Very cool! Though, weirdly, on Firefox, the bullet points don't show up for me, and the numbered list is flat (it just goes #1 - #12, there are no inner items).

@Achaius No problem! Normally your browser at some point in time would automatically do a hard refresh on its own and then you'd see the changes, but since you saw the news and knew about it but didn't see it change, you had to just do a hard refresh manually. This goes for any site, other sites might make an update today that you don't see because it didn't refresh on its own, and you didn't even notice because you weren't looking for it.
