A lot suddenly happened very quickly today. One of those days when something as simple as checking the mail is life-altering. I recieved a letter from a housing authority that I had applied for on a whim...I've been getting a bit desperate to find a place to live. This place happens to be 3 hours away in a place where I don't know anyone. Starting over might be good, but I have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to that far away interview. Luckily I already found a good friend to drive me there- someone who can put up with me in a car for 6 hours!
The next steps are what scare me the most. I have agoraphobia. I don't like leaving the apartment/my safe space unless I have someone with me and even then I get really bad anxiety. I have to have a copy of my birth certificate and social security card for the interview though and having neither since my legal name change, I will have to order new ones, which hopefully won't take more time than I have if I get started right away. So tomorrow I have to walk across town to a notary, then come back a different way so that I can go to the post office on the way back. Hopefully it won't rain or be too hot...I checked the weather and it may be a bit of both, but I have to do it anyway. I'm really nervous.
Tomorrow I'm also supposed to get a call back about an appointment for a hysterectomy. I'm less afraid of that than going out, honestly. Less stressed about a major surgery I may soon be having because it's in the middle of the larger crisis of homelessness. So between that and the plague, probably not the most ideal time to have surgery, but if I waited for the ideal time for literally anything I would never get anything done. There are a lot of benefits to me having the surgery though, so I'm excited for it.
