but a glimpse of a god’s strength

It’s time for the hit new game of 2023, World of Warcraft. GGG is apparently getting together a raiding crew. Dante and HGR spent Saturday evening and most of Sunday leveling up their characters, which meant I got to hear all about the adventures of Chillmonger and Aioniopyr. (The name Aioniopyr was my idea, after HGR rejected my suggestions of “Taco,” “Burrito,” and “Syldrion” [that one actually is respectable; who wouldn’t want a character named after one of our free company submersibles].)

Back in pizza static, we managed to get a Themis reclear despite newbie having massive internet issues. He kept pokeballing and wiping us. You hate to see it. But I got an 18% parse! Personal best! And I finally got a solvent for my weapon, so it’s only up from here.

  • (HGR) think this is more than 3 packets, bros
  • (Dante) they're really, really, big packets
  • (HGR) double stuffed packets
  • (HGR) mmm
  • (Achaius) now I'm hungry

By Sunday, newbie got Comcast to fix his issues, and we were back in business. Kinda thematic to be progging Athena during Starfall, though the effect is rather diminished since we’ve been here for a month. Starting Proto Carbuncle during Riot of Rot was cooler. That was nearly a year ago, wow.

The pleasing parallelogram strat has turned into a reductive rhomboid strat. We had a mid-raid geometry lesson a couple of weeks ago where we learned all about different kinds of quadrilaterals. I can’t describe the mechanic, because I don’t understand the mechanic: I just know my own part, meaning that I take my tether HERE, and then if I’m taking a tower I go HERE, and if I’m baiting adds I go HERE. The geometry is a mystery. There’s a thing with cross and plus debuffs that I ignore because it’s support business aka not my business. Sometimes I get wiped off the map by a laser that was not supposed to be pointing in my direction and that’s just how it goes.

We are maybe close to enrage. We often get through reductive rhomboid cleanly (or with just one or two deaths); we sometimes get through limit cut in a recoverable state; we are working on Superchain Theory 2a, which seems conceptually simple, just execution-heavy.
