aphrodisia hub

Containment zone for all Aphrodisia-related thoughts and commentary.

My haul

4.3k HS on main, 1.2k HS on my alt. That’s 50 buffies, 3 scrots, a whole bunch of apps (including an ardor mark + a flamingo mark for my next lead), various backgrounds and decor, and 50+ dry palm leaves. The buffies should net me a cool 1k gc out of season. Everything else is personal use.

main: 340 happy thoughts, 159 awkward thoughts, and 389 frivolous thoughts

alt: 150 happy thoughts, 72 awkward thoughts, and 174 frivolous thoughts

Misc thoughts on other people’s lions

  • There are so many hybrids out there. I’m used to thinking of hybrids as incredibly elite and beyond the reach of normal players. But I keep flirting with them, and once we hit tier 3, barked hybrids were getting IBFed every few minutes in chat. All the hype is making me want a hybrid of my own. That’s how they get you. Maybe a tigon to be HAZARD BOOM’s successor…
  • On the other end of the scale, I’m always surprised to see basic NCL permas. I’m not talking about massclaimed fodder (for impression farming, kill farming, befriending quests, etc.) or breed-and-yeets, both of which make sense. I’m talking about named lions who are clearly in a “real” cave. Why? It’s so easy to do so much better. The market is glutted with nice cubs at fodder prices (40 sb and under). Even if you’re a g1 lair, chaseds are a dime a dozen. It’s not like Wolvden; the chased rate is much higher and it’s common to find multiple nice chaseds in a day.
  • edit (2/13): Flirted with a basic NCL perma named “MY ABSOLUTE QUEEN” who had “g1 pon mom” in her tagline. I get keeping this one. (Though if she were mine, I’d treat her to some event apps for her service.)
  • edit (2/21): Flirted with a basic NCL whose tagline was “Kinda ugly :c” and I was like, bro, the chase button is right there. Then I realized it was a sprout who’s only been playing a few days. That one’s fair too. It sometimes takes new players a while to realize you can buy cubs off TC.
  • I wonder what percentage of adults are permas, as opposed to breed-and-yeet, sales, project breeders, etc. For me, it’s common to have up to a third of my den be non-permas. (I have 15 permas, and sometimes explore is very generous with NCLs when I’m massclaiming.) I figure the percentage of permas is lower now that we’ve hit tier 3 and special NCLs have been unleashed.
  • It’s interesting to see people’s different word associations. For instance, I flirted with “Poison” and expected them to be some kind of neon green abomination (positive). Instead, they were a gentle pink-and-blue pastel.

2/10: I feel like I’m getting fewer alphabet soup dergs than at the start of the month. I wonder if the event is motivating people to name their lions. Based event if so.

2/12: Never mind. Alphabet soup has been making a comeback. “Pon FR GF WR F9 F8 PSG” is an interesting case. She’s a leopon, which automatically makes her part of the 1%. She’s got five raffle marks and is an accomplished hunter (level 30, 1k stats). But she’s naked, nameless, appears visually like a no-marking lion, and is in a cave with a bunch of other alphabet soup hybrids. Just another anonymous breeder.

2/26: Not quite alphabet soup, but I flirted with a “Gen 63+ VERY DIRTY” (tagline: DO NOT BREED, HERITAGE IS A WREATH). I’m impressed that someone counted. She’s NIB on the first page though!

Fun names in other clans

  • a female incel
  • a rotten potato (yesss someone else has a potato-themed NCL for flirts)
  • why werent u a gon. die. (tagline: “9 bo. sell? double aether”) (she’s not in her birth pack, so it seems the buyer liked the name and decided to keep it)
  • Fortnite Battle Pass, whose mother is also named Fortnite Battle Pass. in a different lair, I flirted with Fortnite Battle Pass 4, who is in a den of Fortnite Battle Pass 1-15.
  • The blanket never did anything (if you know, you know)

I also flirted with a g2 mngwa whose mother was named “2nd and final mngwa attempt (Deceased).” Good job on that second attempt o7

Flirt leaderboards

Day 10: Leaderboard snipe! toby has consistently been in the lead all month, but necrohol shot past him today to take the #1 spot.

  1. necrohol of nabudis [Abyss of Time] (36 flirts, 26 failed)
  2. toby [Empire of Steel] (32 flirts, 21 failed)
  3. dungeon dice [Empire of Steel] (30 flirts, 21 failed)
  4. bulbasaur [senegal squad] (27 flirts, 19 failed)
  5. dawn of the final day [Empire of Steel] (27 flirts, 21 failed)

Day 20: necrohol barely holds on to first place, while toby continues dropping down the ranks. The totals are less than double what they were 10 days ago; I blame all these event NCLs soaking up flirts.

  1. necrohol of nabudis [Abyss of Time] (56 flirts, 42 failed)
  2. dungeon dice [Empire of Steel] (55 flirts, 38 failed)
  3. chibundu [Abyss of Time] (52 flirts, 38 failed)
  4. toby [Empire of Steel] (51 flirts, 28 failed)
  5. bitcoin bro [senegal squad] (49 flirts, 37 failed)

Day 28 (final): We have four deathrolling girls (dungeon dice, chibundu, dawn of the final day, and the wine-dark sea), but everyone made it to the end of the month! But these totals are way lower than I expected on day 10. I guess everyone (myself included) lost steam as the month went on.

  1. necrohol of nabudis [Abyss of Time] (65 flirts, 48 failed)
  2. bitcoin bro [senegal squad] (65 flirts, 49 failed)
  3. dungeon dice [Empire of Steel] (63 flirts, 45 failed)
  4. chibundu [Abyss of Time] (58 flirts, 40 failed)
  5. toby [Empire of Steel] (56 flirts, 32 failed)

honorable mention: cryptbloom [dwarf fortress] (55 flirts, 25 failed)
