Resistance Band Training for the First Time

2:52 AM

In the past 3 hours of today, I have been asleep for two hours. For the past 30 or so minutes I’ve just been playing this math game called FastMath.

3:06 AM

I need to time myself and see how long each of my brain training activities take. That’ll help me determine how much time I need to allocate to them. Actually, I can start a timer for every single one of my habits.

  • Impulse: 5 minutes
  • Peak: 10 minutes
  • Elevate: 15 minutes
  • NYT Games: 20 minutes
  • Quick Math Daily: 9 minutes

.

4:09 AM

In the past hour I completed all of my brain training as listed above, and timed them too. So it basically takes me an hour to do all of them. Now let me time doing all of my exercises. I’m just going to time how long it takes me to do every single one of them in a row.

6:54 AM

In the past 3 hours I have basically been eating and watching this documentary on Nintendo called Power, I think. It’s an episodic series with 6 or so episodes, with each episode being roughly an hour long. It’s sort of a waste of time and doesn’t align with my plans for the day. It also seems incomplete, as I have read more of the story of Nintendo’s founding from the book Range and that went into more detail.

5:16 PM

I basically just continued watching and eating. I watched some other videos as well, and then I went to sleep and had a great dream. When I woke up I spent like 30 minutes replying to someone on Reddit. Then I ate more, just sat there eating. Yeah none of this is about my priorities for the day.

I’m going to take a shower and return some items to Best Buy.

11:56 PM

In the past 6 hours or so, I returned the items to Best Buy, went to Marshall's and bought some food and new training equipment, and watched the Nintendo documentary again for a few hours. Then I played Beat Saber for around 30 minutes, and then I did resistance band training for the first time.

I know I didn't complete my top 3 priorities for today yet again, but I discovered something new. I discovered resistance bands. You can work out practically every muscle with these things. I trained a few different muscles using them, and they are so fun to use. I'm not watching any videos or anything on how to use them, I just try and discover all the exercises myself by doing my own movements.

My fear is that exercise bands could break, but I'm not sure if they can. They are designed to be extremely stretchy, although it does feel at times like I am going to snap one as I stretch it.

What I'm not able to replicate is the exercise in doing dips or pull-ups or chin-ups. I think these are called pulling exercises. How do I replicate pulling with these bands? I nan replicate any pushing exercises such as dumbbell curls or squats ,r that exercise behind my head, and ever shoulder presses. But pulls? I'm not sure they are possible.

Reflection Questions
What are my top 3 priorities for today?

1) Write affirmations
2) Catch up on accounting
3) Complete my daily exercises

What have I done right that moved me closer to my goals today?

I exercised and completed all of my brain training, I posted on social media, I wrote down my affirmations

What would I do differently if I could repeat today?

I would not have started that Nintendo documentary. Literally doing anything else could have been better. I would not have eaten so much
