Still wrestling this aggressive ennui. I didn’t even go outside yesterday, not even to take out the trash, though I really should have. Gotta change the air filter (should’ve been done two days ago). Gotta take out the big kitchen trash (trash is piling up on the kitchen counters because the trash is full).
This morning I sat down to do some work before raid—I am super behind on this project—and I had everything perfectly set up, all documents and tabs open to the applicable pages, when my laptop froze and needed a force restart. Restarting takes forever on this clunker, and I had to re-open everything and by then it was nearly raid time. Starting to get it together though…I managed to do a bit of work, and took out the big + small kitchen trash and put some miscellaneous trash in the newly-empty trash can before raid.
Anyway, yeah, it’s the triumphant(?) return of RAID. I was not feeling it and said yes pretty much out of obligation. But as HGR pointed out, (1) it’s not like I have great plans for my time otherwise and (2) it’s good for me to have at least one highkey activity in my life. And I did enjoy it once we got going, so I suppose he’s right as usual.
We spent the weekend on the Vamp Fatale fight—a good warmup, since it’s a floor 1 fight on which we already saw enrage. Boppin music, too. Just gotta remember how to play the game. HGR was like “everyone pls remember your hell in a cell positions” and we were all like ? ? ? Fun fact: apparently in January numbers typed a post in raid-strats about our hell in a cell positions, but did not hit enter, and the post stayed in his message bar until he discovered it on Sunday (after we had already cleared and were starting on the beach boys).
Vamp wasn’t a free fight damage-wise (unfortunate since we have a lot of reclears ahead of us). Sunday afternoon we saw enrages of 5.9%, 1.4%, 3.6%, and 2.9%. It was close enough that we decided to wall it every time “No. 1 bat victim” meisnewbie died on the first round of bats. Samurai always gotta be doing something fancy. In this case, it was running into the circle immediately to hit the boss, backdashing out of the circle, and then running back in. Well, look, he doesn’t tell me how to play machinist. It does look cool when it works.
The biggest downside to raid is that it makes the weekend feel so short. It’s just six hours, so it really shouldn’t, but it’s how it goes. Sunday after raid I was like, wait, the weekend is practically over, wtf. (Doubly unfortunate because it’s time to LOCK IN on WORK. urggggh)
