Back in the States

10:03 AM

I am back in the U.S. again since last yesterday. The past week I have been in Mexico City. I visited places like Teotihuacan, Chapultepec, Templo Mayor, Centro Historico, Basicila de Guadalupe, etc. It was a pretty cool experience. I spoke Spanish with a bunch of people, they were much easier to understand than Puerto Rican Spanish. In PR Spanish, they don't say their S', so something like "nos vemos" (we'll see each other later), would be said as "no vemo", etc. Gracias would just be Gracia, and so on, and I have a hard time understanding them. Mexican Spanish I could understand it pretty well, but Spain Spanish is the easiest to understand to me, it's almost like English.

There were some cool experiences I had in Mexico city, such as a cleansing ritual being performed on me. I visited a few churches, prayed a lot, I exercised every day. Oh yeah, that was the best part. I exercised literally every single day, for probably an hour or more daily. I mainly just ran though. I did Norwegian 4x4 intervals on the treadmill, and on the treadmill the exercise was just called Intervalo 4x3, which is a more appropriate name. It is weird to me why the Norwegian 4x4 is called the Norwegian 4x4, when it is 4 minutes of 90% effort, 3 minutes of walking, and you repeat this for any number of times, it should have been called Norwegian 4x3 if anything. I was able to do this on the treadmill for an hour one time. It was so hard.

Going at 90% effort for 4 minutes is so difficult, especially on a treadmill. This treadmill has that 4x3 Intervalo program, so it would automatically slow down the treadmill to a walking pace after 4 minutes, and then bump it up again after 3 minutes. Sprinting for 4 minutes is just so difficult because it feels like it lasts forever. You just keep running and only 5 seconds has passed, which is hell. I distracted myself by listening to audio programs. For a challenge I would do a "no looking at the clock" challenge to see how much time out of 4 minutes was left, and that was absolute hell, because you have no idea how much longer until you're done until the treadmill slows down.

What I didn't like so much was how hot it was and the sun. My parents and I walked around with sunscreen and we each had umbrella, because it was so hot and the UV rating was so hot. Another thing I didn't like was myself, I was fat until the last 2 days. I think I lost a decent amount of weight during the trip or something, but I looked a lot better and leaner on the last day compared to the first, although it's subtle. Yesterday I made the mistake of engorging myself on a bunch of food when I got back to the States.

Oh yeah, we ate at vegan restaurants the entire time. I really liked the tacos, they were so delicious and affordable, unlike tacos in the States. You can get a vegan taco for like $2-$3 at these restaurants. Of course if you eat the street food version you can get a vegan taco for like 25 cents USD, but street food is unsanitary and not recommended, so we didn't eat any street food.

I did like the trip overall. What could have been improved is that I could have been fitter and not fat. If I were fit then all my photos would come out great. Instead I looked really fat and chubby, and the photos were okay, but not great since I am fat in them. I am currently in a 100% ghost rate, where basically all women have ghosted me right now. I hope that will change if I get fit again. I have literally been exercising daily, so the process is slow, but I am getting there.
