I have read a post about how asking questions could be one of the most intimate action a person can do. Not to learn only about their story, but the kind of questions that ask about how the person experience the world. How their mind works or how they feel. These kind of questions allow the person to be vulnerable, to show a part of themselves that does not perform. Its the difference between knowing and understanding. And understanding allows the person to be seen, for who they really are, which is one of the most intimate thing a person could experience.
So my take away is. If i want something real. A real connection. I should understand the person, not merely knowing what their history is.
