foot hurting

My foot started hurting last night. Specifically, the ball of my right foot adjacent to my big toe twinges when I walk on it. There’s no surface abrasion and the area is not tender when I simply touch it with my fingers, so I suspect it’s internal. Annoying. I have no idea what caused it. Last night I was doing my usual, walking at my desk from around 11:30 to midnight while HGR bickered with newbie over his Ultrakill playthrough on discord. Then I sat down. Sometime after midnight I stood up and noticed the pain.

It was still twinging this morning. Wearing house sneakers with orthotics reduces the pain but doesn’t remove it entirely. Sometimes I walk a few steps with no issues and I’m like “hey, is it fixed?” and then it starts hurting again. So, reluctantly, I am officially Taking It Easy today. I have no idea how I managed to strain my foot despite doing no strenuous or unusual activity.

edit (8/8): Sadly we got a bit of a continuing situation here. A mild situation, but a day of semi-rest did not instantly fix things like I hoped.

Friday morning, my foot seemed fine. I continued being careful most of the day by wearing house sneakers and only doing “real” walking (no walking in place). However, that night, I trained a batch of fodder while walking in place at my desk to watch HGR’s Ultrakill stream. As I sat down I felt a sharp pang from the ball of my foot (sharper than any before).

Likewise, on Saturday, it was fine all morning. But during raid, when I was walking in place at my desk for a few hundred steps during one of our strategy discussions, it started aching again.

Which sucks because walking at my desk is so convenient for multitasking. It’s become the majority of my steps aside from my morning wakeup walk. I can get 3k steps watching a LMA video, or 5k steps on-and-off while having an umineko game stream on in the background. Having to physically leave my desk to get steps cuts down on my activity time so much. But it’s probably wise for the time being…body is complaining and I don’t want this mild problem to develop into a not-mild one.

@JustMegawatt Seems to be okay! I'm continuing to take it easy by avoiding walking at my desk...though interestingly it has raised my cardio load so maybe this is just better for me overall.
