Water on for a day, then no water again

11:11 PM

The water came back on yesterday, and was probably on for around 24 hours. Then the water stopped again this morning, and I haven't had any water since. I don't know how anyone can really live like this, it's pretty annoying. I'm more fine than most people since I work from home and don't need to go out, but imagine having to work some job outside, and then you come back home and there's no water at home. So you can't shower or wash dishes or flush the toilet or wash your hands. It's very inconvenient.

I'm actually considering moving out of Puerto Rico because of this. This is just so annoying and not fun at all. I miss cooking healthy meals instead of just eating dried fruits, dried mushrooms, edamame, granola, nuts, etc. which are healthy too, but I miss the vegetables and the mock meats and the rice and beans and lentils I would cook up.

I've lived here for over 5 years now and the infrastructure has always not been good. There are frequently times when the entire island would be out of electricity. I think it has happened twice this year so far, for two entire days. There are times when the water would not work. It's already been over a week since I had regular water. Frequent power, Internet, and water failures are just so common. It's so common. My estimate is 1 day of failure for these every 1-2 weeks, so in a year, there's around 30-50 days where at least one of these things do not work for an entire day. Things haven't improved at all, all this time.

I tell my friend AD, who is basically disabled, about this and he comments that in his entire life in Finland living in the poorest areas of Finland, he has never experienced not having any water or electricity, even once, and he is 35 years old. I don't think I have experienced it once in the U.S. either. These things were just expected to always work.

I don't know where else to move to though. Even though the States do have their own conveniences, it's not fun living in the U.S. either. Things are more calm and less stressful in Puerto Rico I think. It's certainly more relaxed here.

I think life here would be a lot better if I had an air conditioner too, or three, one for each room. I think not having an air conditioner is even more inconvenient than water only turning on for 1 hour per day. Meaning, I would rather have an air conditioner and have access to water for only 1 hour per day, than to have access to water 24/7 but no air conditioner. Right now I'm living with both inconveniences, I only have access to water for maybe an hour per day (or no access to water at all for 0 seconds in an entire day) and no air conditioner. I think I need permission from the condo to be able to make holes in my wall though, so I don't have that figured out yet.

Anyway, I am not sure if I did good today. I didn't do all my exercises. Ah well.
