Just Do Your Best!

11:59 PM

Just do your best. That can differ from day to day.

Today, I watched Cowboy Bebop Episode 18 again, it's an episode that made me tear up a bit around 10 years ago when I saw it for the first time. I remember it was morning when I was watching it. I was still living in an old and poor apartment complex with my parents. Back then the rent in that area was around $1000/mo for 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it was pretty much one of the poorest places in the city. Nowadays I think that place would be like $3000/mo today, I think. Let me look it up. It's $1985/mo for a place with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms now, in the "ghetto" part of the city.

That city was Reston, I lived there for like 20 years. Back then homes were like $300,000. I had some friends who bought homes for that much. Now the cheapest houses are like $800,000. I looked it up, and yeah, they are. Reston really developed. It's one of the richest cities in the entirety of Virginia now. Well I'm wrong, I just looked up the richest cities in Virginia and it's not even in the top 20. Really? Also everyone seems to be very wealthy in these top 20 cities. I would be well below average living there. Wow.

Anyway, Episode 18 of Cowboy Bebop, in my opinion, is the best episode in the series. The entire world building, character build up, etc. is all for this one episode to make sense. Then again, I don't think anyone needs to watch any other episode to know what's going on in this one. A lot of people don't like this episode because there's not really any plot development. But I think the episode is significant because the ending is just so touching.

It doesn't matter what gender you are either. The character focus is on a girl here, but I think the Cowboy Bebop audience in general is mostly males, so I think the authors left it open-ended enough to be applicable to both genders, even if the focus of the story is on a girl. I'm not gonna spoil what happens, but it's touching and applicable to anyone's life.

I have some anime clips saved. There's the ending of Episode 8 of Ningen Fushin. It's touching. Clips like that. Not only from anime, but random videos I've seen that have some profound quote or idea in it. Sometimes there can be some hour long video but it has some golden nuggets of information in 20 seconds, I save those. I don't know where they are all from, I don't know what video or what episode, since I don't always save that info. It's really only with Ningen Fushin Episode 8 and Cowboy Bebop episode 18 that I remember.

Anyway, I am working every day. Sent Juh happy birthday today, it was her birthday on the 24th but I forgot to message her about it. I am continuously working and doing things. Sigh.

I' feel good but also not good. It's hard to describe. I'm tired.
