Saw a video titled “7 Watercolor Lies You Still Believe Because of YouTube.” Obviously clickbait, but I was curious, so I let myself be baited.

The video was a bust, because all the so-called youtube lies are the opposite of what youtube has taught me. Things like “To do watercolor, you must be good at drawing” and “Watercolor is hard because of the movement of the water”—watch literally one LMA video and you’ll know this is not true.

But there was one hilarious point in the video where she was like: “Myth #4: You need fancy supplies to do watercolor. You really don’t. Of course, it’s fun to use fancy supplies, like my new Paul Reubens palette. [Multiple glamour shots of opening the palette.] By the way, this video is sponsored by Paul Reubens.” LMAO

Later in the video, while debunking the “myth” that your art must be photorealistic, she pulls out a brand new Paul Reubens sketchbook and starts painting in it. lmfaoo go off blob. In a way, I respect the hustle. 

(unrelated note to self: why not go outside and do some sketching outside, would probably do you some good and be good practice)
