It’s inktober! I’m not doing anything in particular this year, but ink is the medium of the month. Subject of the month is food & drinks. Paired with my recent interest in urban sketching, this sounds like a great excuse to eat out a bunch. Well, we’ll see. 

• Oct 1 [pen]: Urban sketching at the station coffeehouse. Interior of the cafe.
• Oct 1 [watercolor]: Coloring a page of figure sketches from March. Testing out purple shadows. (surprisingly it does work, yay purbl)
• Oct 2 [pen, watercolor]: Ink-and-wash of radiant boyjazz sitting at the breakfast table ready to eat an egg.
• Oct 2 [pen]: Urban sketching. The drop-off driveway outside the station coffeehouse.
• Oct 3 [pen, crayon]: Urban sketching. A train signal tower by the side of the road.
• Oct 4 [pen, watercolor]: Illustrative page of a juice glass, citrus slices, and leaves.
• Oct 5 [pen]: Urban sketching. A house with pumpkins on display.
• Oct 5 [pen, crayon]: An apple. Loosely referenced from a Sarah Cray tutorial (different media & colors).
• Oct 6 [pen, crayon]: Food journal. Mocha frappe, volcano bowl, horchata espresso & cinnamon crumb cake, croissant & oreo.
• Oct 7 [pen]: Doodle of pumpkins and black ghost cats.
• Oct 8 [pen, watercolor]: Illustrative journal page titled “Mug.” Three-panel format: morning mocha, ingredients, the mushroom mug brother gave me.
• Oct 8 [pen, watercolor]: Birthday card for Dad with chocolate long johns, other donuts, and ice cream. “Grandpa needs donuts” – BB
• Oct 9 [watercolor, watercolor crayon]: Quick scene for the “draw a frog” luna stone raffle (open for the past month, but I waited till the last day). A blurple cartoon frog under a blurple tree.
• Oct 10 [pen]: Urban sketching. The front counter at the station coffeehouse.
• Oct 10 [watercolor]: Loose floral piece (palette: purple, orange, green). Playing with my filbert brush. Art for Abdosbsocbei.
• Oct 11 [pen, watercolor]: Ink-and-wash of a rusty van with flowers on it, or maybe mold. For the bad g1 topic (heather/terracotta/algae).
• Oct 12 [pen, crayon]: Mini doodle of a house & assorted shrubbery in desaturated colors.
• Oct 13 [crayon]: Illustrative page of citrus slices and various leaves, titled “big citrus.”
• Oct 14 [pen, watercolor, watercolor crayon]: Urban sketching. A leaf-strewn staircase leading up to the train platform.
• Oct 15 [pen, crayon]: Various doodles. A spiral, a Valheim portal, sprout blobs & leaves.
• Oct 16 [pen, watercolor crayon, watercolor]: Urban sketching. A potted plant on the windowsill at the burger joint.
• Oct 16 [pen, marker, crayon]: Sketching during numbers’ StS2 stream. A mawler, the phrog parasite, and Vantom. Playing with color blocks and sloppy/loose coloring.
• Oct 17-18 [pen, watercolor, watercolor crayon]: Urban sketching. The squarish yellow brick house down the block.
• Oct 18 [watercolor pencil, watercolor]: Quick sketch of a tree. Trying out watercolor pencils.
• Oct 19 [pen]: Urban figure sketching. Eighteen people at the optometrist and standing in line at the food court.
