Stung by a bee or wasp today

11:57 PM

I usually go to my parent's balcony to exercise, and I would walk on there barefoot. I've done it hundreds of times, just going onto the balcony barefoot, feet completely exposed. Today i was doing lunges, and out of nowhere I felt a sharp pain on my right big toe, and I saw this large, dark, visible insect flying away. I don't know what it was because my vision isn't so great, but I would assume it's a wasp, because there was no stinger left behind.

The last time I was stung by a wasp was around... maybe 4th or 5th grade, sometime back then, more than 20 years ago. My left or right finger ring was swollen. Yeah I don't remember the details all that well. I just remember grabbing ice water in a small teacup, and just placing my finger in there for the entire day. It felt like it lasted a week, but it probably only lasted a day or two. I couldn't use my hand for a while because of my swollen finger. I would just watch TV while having my finger in this teapot.

Today I got stung again and I thought it would swell up as well, but honestly, after like an hour or two, the pain completely went away. It was painful during the experience, it felt like a very hard pinch but much more painful, and the pain lingered at max intensity for around 30 minutes, before dwindling. There was no swelling too. Right now my toe just looks completely normal, like it was never stung at all. There's no pain sensation either when I touch it, whereas earlier today there was.

So, what else? All my cold symptoms have all but vanished. I don't have a cough anymore, nor a runny nose. It literally took just one day to recover. Well, I was having worsening cold symptoms for the past 2 weeks, including a strong cough. But now I'm not coughing anymore, no runny nose either. It kinda feels like I've recovered, somehow.

But due to the sting, I'm now wary of walking onto the balcony barefoot. I couldn't do it. I had to put on socks and shoes before I went to the balcony again today. It's a weird and strong psychological pain. I've literally done it hundreds of times, going onto the balcony barefoot. But now I'm psychologically unable to. I tried. But I had a hard time taking any steps, I'd be hesitant.

What was a wasp doing on my parent's balcony anyway? What were they doing on the floor? Actually there has been a bee or wasp that entered my parent's home before. There's been a few, even in my room. I'm surprised they never stung me.

Anyway I'm pretty sleepy. I'm going to sleep.
