Garbage In and Garbage Out

1:46 AM

I’m back in Puerto Rico again. The plan was to fly from D.C. to Orlando, then to PR.

An incident happened where my first flight was delayed by an hour and a half. This lead to me receiving an email saying that my arrival time in Orlando, Florida would be at 2:26 PM instead of the original 12:56 PM (or around that time). Meanwhile the departure of my connecting flight would still be at 2:36 PM. I figured I wouldn’t be able to make it to this connecting flight, so I panicked and called up Frontier Airlines.

Frontier was very friendly and cordial about the incident. They immediately put me up on the next flight from Orlando to PR, which was at 8 PM, and it would be arriving in PR at 11 PM. So already this was pretty bad, since I was supposed to be in PR by 5:36 PM if there weren’t any delays.

a crazy thing happened and we arrived earlier in Orlando than expected, at around 1:50 PM. So I would have easily made it to the connecting flight at 2:36 PM if I hadn’t changed. Another dumb thing was that this 2:36 PM flight itself was delayed by 36 minutes, so it wouldn’t depart until 3:12 PM. This would have given me ample time to get to this gate if I hadn’t changed.

But now an even crazier thing happened and my 8 PM flight was itself delayed, to 9 PM! Now I wouldn’t be able to get home to PR until after midnight, and that’s exactly what happened. I was at the airport for over 7 hours. It was quite bad, but surprisingly the time went by all the same.

I listened to some decent audio during that time, made by AI. I made some AI audio programs with a bunch of different studies I found. Instead of listening to any audiobooks or podcasts, I just found the direct sources myself, the actual studies I’m interested in, and I’d put them into Gemini Notebook. From there, I can create podcast summaries narrated and focusing on what I want.

The most interesting audio was on the power of the mind. It’s quite insane. Apparently you are able to increase your muscle strength by up to 35% just by using imagination and visualization. Physically working out in that same time period increased strength by 50%+, but visualization got close and it wasn’t with any exercising.

I don’t remember what the rest of the audio was about, but it was enlightening. There was this brief mention of entertainment programs. I don’t know if this was from any study or if AI literally came up with it, but it said something like “now that you know the power of the mind and how even 10 minutes of visualization and meditation can drastically affect your body and mental state, what do you think about all the media we see online? Instead of you living the adventure, you watch cartoons live theirs, you feel satisfaction as if what they did was yours, and you don’t feel like going for it anymore,” something like that. It was a lot longer.

I agree with it. Garbage in and garbage out. From now on I’m only watching high quality content.
