november art log

The monthly art server themes are charcoal and insects and I’m opting out of both. (The monthly medium poll is so funny: 16 charcoal, 13 acrylic, 11 gouache, 1 oil. Oil in ruins. That’s not even a real vote for oil, it’s Stroop posting the placeholder emoji.) Liz Steel’s theme is “temperature: warm and cool” which is very hype.

• Nov 1 [marker, watercolor]: Urban sketching. A row of townhomes with the condo grounds wall in the foreground. Attempting to capture the dreary day with a warm palette (dusty rose, dusty plum, brown, yellow ochre, gray sky).
• Nov 2 [pen, watercolor, crayon]: Urban sketching. A row of townhomes behind an evergreen (silhouetted in white) and a deciduous tree (silhouetted in black). Cool palette.
• Nov 3 [pen, colored pencil, crayon]: Unfinished urban sketch that turned into a general scene. Cars, a brick house, a peach tree, butterflies, a rocket, and a T-Rex with spikes.
