boxfort, part two

Last night I fell asleep early without doing most of my dailies (no journaling or daily drawing, no pokemon trade, no nightly walk; I ended the day at 16K steps). It was a long day, and so good to sleep in my own bed at last.

This morning I woke up early, did my morning walk, and took a shower. First shower in the new home! Every small thing feels like a milestone. Then I realized I didn’t have a towel and wandered around the house dripping wet to search for one. (Which box were the towels in, anyway?) Then, right as I found a towel, there was a buzz from the doorway. I had forgotten my parents were coming at 8:30 to take us to breakfast and go grocery shopping.

After stocking up on groceries, which somehow took the entire morning, we went for a celebration/farewell lunch at a Chinese restaurant my parents found. (Roommate was invited, but didn’t come. His toothache was hurting bad, and he didn’t feel like getting out of bed just for Chinese food.) The food was good, and I ordered taro bubble tea, which was amazing. I enjoy the theater bubble tea, but this place is clearly on a whole different level. I should see if they deliver.

Back at the house, I’m slowly chipping away at the forest of boxes. Every time I walk past the fort in the living room, I sort and put away a few things.

In the evening, I set up both of our computers—not the most intricate job, but I was glad everything worked properly. For my roommate, I set him up at the little table that was going to be the dining table. Not a great setup (the table flap makes sitting awkward) but it was the best we could do. His parents called and offered to pay for his new desk once we choose one.
