3rd Factor "Good Old Persistence"

Alright, let's start with a great quote:

"Persistence. Nothing in the world can take the place of good old persistence. Talent won’t. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius won’t. Unrewarded genius is practically a cliché. Education won’t. The world is full of educated fools. Persistence and determination alone are all-powerful."

Yep, this is a quote from the movie "the founder" (I love movies and this one specifically a lot) I'm not 100% sure if real Ray Crock mentioned this precise quote, but I love it. It tells the truth, nothing can take the place of good all persistence.

This is the 3rd factor for success that we found from books, life, and humanity in general. You must have a vision, if not, you won't get anywhere or everywhere as the cat from Alicia says "If you don't know where you're going any road will take you there". You must have a plan or a mission to get where you want to go, that is the road that the cat's talk about, that road sometimes is very obvious, sometimes you have to be intelligent and creative to do your own road and sometimes you'll have to take a leap of faith, get in the boat and sail until you see the promise isle and the clear path to it. But after all that, you'll need may be the most valuable skill you will need in this path to accomplish success and actually get there. PERSISTENCE, diligence, tenacity, perseverance or determination however you want to call it.

Here we are talking about the execution of that mission when you get there you'll have to keep going and going and going. Sometimes that mission of yours is going to fail you, the road will split in two or it can be that metaphorical boat that sinks because of the length or monotony of the trip or it may crash against a difficulty like the titanic crashing against the iceberg, doesn't how creative or impressive was your boat or the road that you chose or made to get to your goal many things may happen throughout the trip.

But Persistence, persistence is going to be the skill that will make you add a couple of tires to the boat for it not to sink, it will make you build a single motor, more aerodynamic, boat to reach those white coasts.

I love this other metaphor of tenacity in mechanical engineering, a material has an index of tenacity and it means that depending of that number is the capacity of the material to bend or stretch from external forces.

That's what we should aim for, are we a piece of hardwood, really hard and tough for our job or studies but by any external change that comes to disrupt our normal life will break us and leave us waiting to find something else, or are we a piece of good old steal that will bend against that difficulty and get back to its place whatever it comes, or maybe transforming in something more beautiful after some forces are applied in specific places.

That's the beauty of it, persistence won't tell you to stay in the same place, persistence will show you that there are many ways to get you to that goal or vision of yours, but doesn't matter the way, it will keep you on track to get there!

Be PERSISTENT
